Madison Evans, April – Recently, after my tournament flight ended, I saw my parents using the NASP Portal. I just had to learn more so I tried it for myself.
The portal is a downloadable app that makes it easy to check event information, tournament scores, and rankings. It isn’t just for parents. I was amazed at how useful it is for young archers like myself.
Here are my 5 favorite ways to use the NASP app.
- If you are the type of person who likes to keep track of your score and standings during a tournament then this app if for you. I love that I can favorite myself and my team. Favorites appear on the dashboard so with one click I can see my latest scores, rankings, and updated team standings. If you are impatient like me, it might be helpful to know that the last flight of the tournament takes a bit longer to post. For example, in Minnesota, the scores are typically posted when the awards ceremony begins.
- My next favorite feature is the practice scorecard. It is laid out with 6 ends, 3 for 10 meters and 3 for 15 meters. Then I can tap into each end and track my arrows during practice. As a bonus, it helps with human calculation errors because the app does all of the adding for you!
- Next, the analytics are on-point! When I click on my name, I am able to see loads of data about my NASP shooting history. I love this feature! My favorite part is the insights tab. I can see my average score, personal best, number of tournaments, most recent results, and at the bottom, there is a graph of my totals over time. FYI – all tournament data is included here so if you shoot bullseye and 3D, the graph represents both.
- I just learned about the news tool which is at the bottom of the home page. Here I can see the latest happenings like announcements about the scholarship program, nationals, and more. It is like having the latest NASP® information handy in your pocket.
- I also like the notification settings. I have them turned on so as soon as my score or the team’s score is updated, my phone vibrates and a notification displays showing me the need-to-know details.
The NASP portal app is an amazing source to access the archery information you need anytime and from anywhere.
