Mack S. June – This season some of my fondest experiences and memories happened at home tournaments or at large tournaments, like State or Nationals. There’s no specific ones to point out but I noticed it was the tournaments I could stay at the whole day helping or doing something for my team and the Student Contributor Program. I don’t know if I just enjoy helping or if I like the feeling of being slightly special with important tasks to do but either way I love tournaments like that.
One of the most recent tournaments like this was Nationals. I was there Friday and Saturday from start to finish and loved it. I was taking photos for my team and others who had requested some, as well as running small errands for the coaches, like getting drinks or arrows. I was able to meet many people, creating new connections and opportunities. I shot a decent score for both 3D and bullseye, then got to congratulate a friend and teammate on placing overall. After awards I, my mother, and my brother stayed to help clean up and ended the event off with Wendy’s on the way home. (I love Wendy’s btw)
Aside from tournaments another event I rather enjoyed was our annual end of year celebration. Though it isn’t much, it’s a great time featuring dodge ball or football, loads of pizza (80 boxes of it), and the whole team enjoying the last days of the season. I was able to eat to my heart’s desire and witness my brother’s friend butcher a shirt in an attempt to remove the sleeves. Overall, ending my season on a wonderful note.
As great as this season was, just like the ones previously, I only hope that the upcoming one is even better. I have plenty of goals and can’t wait to see how far I can go!
