The National Archery in the Schools Program announces the first ever NASP® Western National Tournament.
Beginning in 2018 the NASP® tournament schedule will have a new location. The NASP® National tournament that has traditionally been held on the second weekend of May, in Louisville, Kentucky will continue and become the Eastern National and the NEW event in Utah will become known as the Western National. This event will offer schools in the western US states the opportunity to attend and experience the excitement of a national NASP® tournament. Schools may register for either of the two tournaments, but may only participate in one per year.
The event will take place at the South Towne Exposition Center located at 9575 South State Street, Sandy, Utah, April 13-14, 2018. The event schedule will have 7 competitive flights on both Friday and Saturday with awards following the last flight on Saturday. The Western National will have a capacity of approximately 3,000 archers. Once the event fills registration will close. Registration and additional tournament information will be available soon at nasptournaments.org and naspschools.org.
All standard NASP® awards will be presented at both events in all standard NASP® divisions – NASP® Bulls-eye and NASP® IBO 3-D Challenge. NASP® scholarships, however, will be presented at the NASP® World Championships to be held in Louisville in June of 2018. Scores from both the Eastern and Western National tournaments will be combined to determine the top qualifying archers for the annual scholarship shoot-off.
