NASP® is excited to continue the Student Contributor Program for a second year. Students, families, coaches, coordinators, and friends of NASP®️ can experience the program through the eyes of student archers, shared in their own voice.
“I hope to place well at tournaments and help spread my knowledge and experience with other archers throughout the nation,” says 2023 Student contributor Madi Rhinevault. Applying for the NASP® student contributor program gave her just that opportunity!
Every archer from an active NASP® school was invited to apply to be a contributor. A total of 11 NASP® archers were selected via application criteria submitted to NASP®. Contributors in the current group are dispersed across the United States from Alaska, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Kentucky, Nevada, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
This year’s team of student contributors range from 5th – 12th grade; include both public and homeschool students; and reflect archers with varying degrees of archery experience. One of the common favorites amongst contributors is the ability to meet new people and make friends with other archers. Madi wrote, “Archery is such a beautiful thing because it unifies people through a common interest. When shooting, there is no rivalry but instead friendly competition.” The students who applied were excited for the opportunity to engage with the other contributors from around the U.S.
While the contributors are given different topic ideas each month, they are also encouraged to submit their own topic ideas. Submissions have included archery games, rules, experiences, tips, inspiration and more.
Jillian McClanahan, a 2023 student contributor, says “I am so thankful to get the opportunity to be a NASP® student contributor. I hope by sharing my experiences, others will benefit and learn more about the NASP® program. Good luck to everyone this archery season.”
Student articles will be featured on the Archer-to-Archer section of the NASP®️ website as well as shared on social media. These students are excited to share their experiences and we at NASP® are thrilled to share them with everyone!
