The 2024 NASP® National tournament season is underway with the Western National Tournament being held at the Mountain America Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah on April 26-27, 2024. With the total number of participating archers at 2,530, the 2024 event represents the highest number of participants yet for this event. A total of 2,152 bullseye archers from 24 states, attended this year’s tournament. For several western archers, this event was the first time they had qualified to attend a NASP® national competition as 252 total teams were represented.
NASP® president Tommy Floyd said, “We love coming to Sandy, Utah and seeing this tournament grow. This growing event illustrates what is so wonderful about NASP®… teams, individuals, and families having a fun and safe day participating in the shooting sports. Many of these students might not be able to travel to experience our eastern event, and we are so pleased to see this event continue to expand. Working with our trusted partners IBO, and Centershot Ministries, we are truly excited about the days ahead for NASP® in the west!”
In addition to the exciting bullseye competition, The International Bowhunting Organization’s NASP®/IBO 3D Challenge was also held with 1,812 participants from 21 states.
Ryan Bass, IBO Vice President said, “We continue to grow in the west! We are so encouraged about the increasing excitement and participation of the 3D Challenge in the western states. It was wonderful to see the archers and their families participating. We are extremely optimistic about the future and continued growth of the NASP® IBO 3D Challenge!”
NASP® was again pleased to collaborate with Centershot Ministries, that conducted the 2023 Centershot Western National Tournament and the JROTC Archery tournament.Centershot Ministries Executive Director Aaron Scheer said, “As I reflect on the growth and success of the 2024 Centershot and JROTC Western National Tournament a major theme was evident. The commitment to the growth and development of young leaders was visible throughout the competition. We experienced patience, kindness, courtesy and respectfulness from the archers, coaches, and parents. The impact that archery is making in lives is undeniable. This year we have seen a 60% increase in new archer’s taking the challenge of the Western National Tournament. We can’t wait until next year!”

As the 2024 Western National competition closes, qualifying archers from the eastern portion of the United States will soon gear up for their opportunity to compete. NASP® will conduct the Eastern National Tournament on May 9-11, 2024, at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Attendance at the Eastern National Tournament is expected to be one of the largest crowds ever in the history of the event. Scores from both tournaments (Eastern and Western), will then be combined to determine the individuals and teams that will be named as overall National Champions and then advance to the 2024 NASP® Championship Tournament, to be held June 6-8, 2024, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
