NASP® Academic Archer Program and On Target for Life Awards to open September 1, 2018!

The National Archery in the Schools Program and Easton Technical Products announces the opening of the fourth year of the popular NASP® Academic Archer program.
In its first year of implementation, the NASP® academic recognition program finished with 8,517 students enrolled. Educators from US states and two Canadian Provinces implemented the NASP® Academic Archer Program. In its second year, Academic Archer achieved tremendous growth and closed out on April 30, 2017 with 19,381 students enrolled from schools in the US, Canada, and the British Virgin Islands. 2018 was yet another record-breaking year with 25,266 students enrolled.
“Academic Archer and On Target for Life will both go live on September 1 for the 2018-2019 school year,” said NASP® Vice President and General Manager Tommy Floyd. “We hope that every NASP® jurisdiction will enroll students in the program.” NASP® president Roy Grimes said, “It is our intention to send the strongest of messages about how teaching archery as part of the school curriculum is important to the mission of educators. As we’ve stated before, the more we emphasize in school archery as an extension of the classroom, the more that educators can use programs like Academic Archer, as a motivational tool to reach more students! “
The On Target for Life Awards have been created to provide an opportunity to identify, recognize and celebrate the actions of the special people that are a part of any local NASP®. Through their examples, NASP® continues to make a difference at the local level – One Arrow at a Time! OTFLA Nominations may begin September 1, 2018.
The six categories are
1) Community Service Award (Team Award),
2) Bullseye Award (Student Award),
3) Superhero Award (Volunteer Award),
4) Courage Award (Student Award),
5) Outstanding Alumni Award (Alumni Award),
6) Coach of the Year (Coach/Educator Award)
Nominations for On Target For Life Awards must be received by March 31, 2019. OTFL Awards will be presented prior to the 2019 National Tournament Awards presentation.
