When I was twelve-years-old, my dad asked if I wanted to go hunting with him that year. I told him, “No, I don’t want to shoot a gun. But I’ll try archery”. Neither of us had shot archery before, meaning that we got to go on this new experience together. We still shoot and go hunting together each year.
I graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Business Management. After graduation, I became the Archery Education Coordinator for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. This included being the Oregon State Coordinator for NASP®. In addition to being a statewide coordinator, I have ran a JOAD archery club, competed in archery tournaments, bow hunted and worked as an archery technician at a pro shop. These different opportunities have offered me a unique perspective into the different parts of the archery industry. I love introducing kids to archery and seeing their smile fill up their face when their arrow sticks into the target for the first time. I look forward to the opportunity to continue spreading archery cheer in the position of Program Manager and liaison of Western States.
