Hello, I am Asher S. I am 11 years old and in 6th grade. I live in Louisville, Kentucky. I have two siblings (one older brother and one older sister). I also have a dog named Rex, that is a hound mix. My sister always says she is Rex’s favorite, but I think I am! He is a great dog.
In addition to archery, I like to draw, do crafts, and write stories. I wrote a book a few years ago and my mom sent the pages off to be bound into a book. I hope to have my own book published next year and I think it would be great to be able to sell it online! I am also involved in theater. I just finished doing two productions at once! One was a play and one was a musical. The play was The Night at the Wax Museum and the musical was Junie B. Jones, Jr. I have also just auditioned for another musical, Mary Poppins. The cast list just came out and I will begin rehearsals for that in January.

I have been in archery with some of my best friends, Finn, Owen, Owen (yes there are two Owens), Colten, Eban, and Precious, for two years now and the thing I like best about it is that I have great coaches that always help us and encourage us. When I started archery, it was when Covid-19 really started to become widespread, so we had to space out the quivers and we had to wear masks. That was terrible, I tell you. But I’m glad we at least were actually able to go to archery practice and have a season.
At our practices, our coaches have fun contests and archers sometimes win prizes. These contests include one called Last Archer. It is a game where the coaches will call out a ring of the target, (for example: “White or better!”) If you land your arrow in the ring they called, you stay in the game, but if you miss the ring they called, you’re out. Another game is one where they pin a dollar bill or five dollar bill to a target and whoever hits it, gets the money that is on the target. I have won that game before and it’s a lot of fun! And plus, money.
