2016 NASP® World Tournament
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

I was very excited once I realized I had qualified to attend the 2016 NASP® World Tournament. I knew it was located in Myrtle Beach and I had never been there before. Though I was happy about going to the beach, I was very nervous about shooting in the NASP® World Tournament. I knew the best archers would be there and I would have to do my best to place in the tournament. I practiced quite a bit leading up to the tournament and felt that I would do okay. I never dreamed that I would win the tournament, let alone be the first 5th grade female in the history of NASP® to be the overall female archer of the World Tournament. I also beat my all-time high score by five points with a 295. My time at the tournament was fantastic.
I shot at 2:45 PM on Sunday, which was the last flight of the tournament and I was very nervous leading up to my flight knowing a 291 was the top elementary female score. I was very excited because this was my first time ever shooting in the NASP® World Tournament. My dad, mom and little brother attended the tournament with me and we all hoped that I would do well. I started off a little rough with a 46 during the 10-meter practice round. I was able to shoot two 50’s and a 49 at the 10-meter scoring rounds. I could not believe I shot two 50’s to begin my scoring rounds! I then shot a 47 for my 15-meter practice round. I shot my best rounds ever from the 15 with 49, 48, and 49! I was surprised at my score when my dad told me it was a 295. I began facetiming, texting, and calling my family and friends to tell them about my score. My family and friends were really happy that I shot a 295. I won a Genesis bow as one of my prizes so I gave it to my little brother,
Zachary. He will start shooting this year. I thank God for allowing me the opportunity to have this great experience and the success in the NASP® World Tournament.
