As amazing as archery is, it is more than just shooting bows. You meet friends and even “family” along the way. I have made several personal connections because of archery, however, these stand out to me the most!
One of the best personal connections that I have made is with my “brothers”. Both have them inspired me to become a better person because they told me that they look up to me. Being someone’s role model is some pretty big shoes to fill. Them choosing me to look up is a great honor. They have helped me through so much, and they always find ways to put a smile on my face. These two are not only a big part of my life, but they are a big part of who I am now. The laughter, fun times, and great memories from archery has definitely come from these two, and all I can say is thank you! Archery would not be archery without them!
The next personal connection that I got from archery is the one with my coach. Mr. Weiler did not only help influence my decision to join archery, but he created this huge impact on my life, and he has no idea how thankful I am. There is not enough thank yous in this world for how much he has helped me and guided me for the past 3 years in my archery career. Mr. Weiler has not only been my coach throughout the years, but he has been my role model. He has shown me what a great leader is supposed to be like, how to stand your ground for what you believe in, and to step out of your comfort zone every once in a while. He has sure pushed me to become not only a better archer, but a better person. With a great role model like him, I have bettered myself into hoping one day be as great of leader as he is! I could not have asked for a better archery coach, and I am so thankful for what he has taught me already, and what I am still learning from him!
All in all, shooting bows is a great time, but the connections and memories you make with people is what truly makes archery one of the best sports of all time!
