Anna Rawe, March – Ever wonder what you can do with archery after NASP®? If you love the sport there are many places that you can go after you graduate, one of them being on a collegiate journey to continue shooting. I attended the 2024 Vegas Shoot for the first time this year and it was such an amazing experience.
There are 6 different flight divisions at the Vegas shoot for different archers to compete in, and the style of the competition is similar to NASP®. The Vegas Shoot even has divisions for collegiate archers. There are many opportunities for archers to pursue an opportunity in collegiate archery to continue their academic and athletic career. I have teammates that graduated from my high school that I got to watch compete in The Vegas shoot, as well as two other archers from other schools in my hometown. It is so cool to me to be able to see so many former NASP® shooters come together to form a new team and work together to represent a major university.
One of the coolest things that I saw during the shoot is the differences in age. You could be 12 years old and shooting next to someone in their 70s, how awesome is that?! This is truly a sport that you can participate in the rest of your life. And now it is an honor for me to share the excitement that my best friend just finished her senior year as a NASP shooter and will be continuing to shoot in college as well!
