NASP® sets new record for recognizing academic success in the classroom and selects random equipment winners.  

April 4, 2025 – NASP® Academic Archer enrollment reaches 43,262

The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP®) is excited to announce the highest total of NASP® students to be enrolled in its Academic Archer program. Along with the Academic Archer Program title sponsor Easton Archery, NASP® celebrates, not only the success of students on the range, but also their hard work in the classroom.  NASP® continues to promote the positive impact that in-school archery can make for any school that incorporates it into the existing curriculum.

Academic Archer was established in 2015 to recognize “success” in the classroom by NASP® participants in grades 4-12. The goal of the program is to reinforce the overall mission of educators.  Life-long learning and the support of it, has long been a goal of the 23-year-old in-school-archery program. NASP® realizes that once introduced, students love shooting archery.  Educators everywhere leverage this love of archery to promote better outcomes in the classroom.  Many times, students who are on the edgeof performing better academically, find a reason to give the extra effort needed to succeed academically.  Across the many NASP® jurisdictions, participating schools also utilize downloadable Academic Archer certificates to recognize their student-archers during their annual academic awards ceremonies. 

NASP® President Tommy Floyd said, “We are thrilled that Academic Archer numbers continue to increase and Academic Archer enrollment across our jurisdictions continues to be a priority for educators and coaches. We want to send the strongest of messages about our program’s value to educators who combine the overwhelming love that students develop for in-school archery, with a leverage tool for generating the extra effort often required to motivate students to be more successful in the classroom.  For 2025, our NASP® team created multiple new pathways for nominations including non-competitive avenues. The new opportunities seem to have made a difference as several of these resulted in the increase in enrollment of student archers.  Along with our longstanding partner, Easton Technical Products, we are extremely proud of our programmatic emphasis on academics.  We will soon be announcing our random Genesis bow winners that were chosen from this large pool of NASP® Academic Archers.

Following the close of registration for Academic Archer, NASP^® conducted its annualrandom computerized drawing from among all registered Academic Archers and selected ten student names. Each of these young people will receive a new Genesis Bow in the color of their choice and custom Easton Academic Archer Arrows!  NASP^® would like to thank Easton Archery for donating the arrows.
