January – Hello everyone! My name is Reagan Trent, and I am a senior at Howell High School in Michigan. This is my third year as a student contributor to NASP®. While I am excited to continue sharing my passion for archery, I approach this year with mixed emotions, as it is my final year as a registered NASP® archer. Throughout my journey, NASP® has brought joy into my life in countless ways. Participating in the student contributor program has become my special way of giving back to this community that has given me so much.
As this is my final year in the program, I want it to be the best one yet. It will be extremely hard to surpass the amazing experiences I’ve had so far, but I believe I can make it happen. Writing for my fellow archers has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my high school career. Even after I move on from NASP®, I know I will always carry the memories, lessons, and friendships I’ve gained. NASP® has helped me find a sense of belonging and connect with friends who share my passion for archery.
When I discovered that the student contributor applications were already available for this year, I felt a wave of excitement. The opportunity to continue writing for this program fills me with genuine happiness. Sharing my knowledge and experiences as an archer has been a significant part of my high school journey, shaping not only my growth as an athlete but also as a person and mentor.
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a student contributor is the impact my articles have had on fellow archers. There is nothing quite like the feeling of someone approaching me to share how they learned something new from my writing. Whether it’s a teammate or an archer from another school, each interaction reinforces the importance of peer-to-peer learning in our sport. I strongly believe that archers learning from other archers strengthens our community. The power of shared experiences and knowledge cannot be underestimated. Sometimes, the solution to a persistent challenge or a breakthrough in technique comes from reading about another archer’s journey or hearing their insights.
Looking back on my time writing for NASP®, I am filled with gratitude for the program that has allowed me to share my experiences and knowledge. Connecting with fellow archers through my writing has been incredibly fulfilling. As I enter my final year, I am more determined than ever to make my articles meaningful and impactful.
Happy shooting, archers, and here’s to another year of learning and growing together!
