Eden Van Zante, March –
I am here to tell you about why practice and endurance are important when it comes to the sport of archery. Just like any other sport or activity you may be involved in, it takes practice to get better at it. Sometimes as you get older and more experienced in the sport it can be hard to go to practices and feel motivated to practice but as much as you think you don’t need to practice you still need to be disciplined in the sport. The more you practice and the more time you put into the sport the better and more experienced you will be. When you put in the work at practice you can guarantee that you will make progress.
I think that it is very important to go to as many archery practices as possible. Because when you are committed and willing to work for a sport, practice and endurance are some ways that will help you achieve your goals. I also think it’s important to practice like you are going to perform. Don’t go to practice and goof around with your friends and try to shoot your arrows as fast as possible. Go to practice and pretend like you are at a tournament. This may look like taking your time on the line, being quiet and responsible, and practice scoring on paper scorecards. All of these things can help prepare you for a tournament.
Endurance I think is a massive part of archery. After a low scoring tournament or practice it can be hard to stay positive for the next tournament or practice. Sometimes it can be even one arrow that can mess us up and it can be hard to keep going after that arrow, tournament, or practice. It takes lots of endurance to keep going and pushing through those difficult moments
Endurance isn’t something that just happens and shows up out of nowhere; it, like archery, needs to be practiced. The more that we practice endurance the easier it is to use when we need it. If no one practiced endurance you would get nowhere because one little slip up would make you want to quit. But with endurance we can push through and become better and stronger archers.
